Some of you may already know my little nephew is moving to Thailand in just 2 short weeks!! We’d like to spend as much time with my family before they head out, on their amazing journey to Thailand. My niece was afraid she was going to get home sick so she decided to stay behind, while we went up to the Upper Peninsula a few weeks ago. Its soooo peaceful in the U.P. We stood with Tony’s sweet family, who is now my family. We love them! Tony’s family – (Aunts and Grandpa) live right behind a river. So everyday we’d go out on the pontoon boat, fish or layout and just relax. I’m an outdoorsy person, so I genuinely enjoy my time there. The U.P. has so much to offer – lakes, beaches and a few waterfalls nearby. This will definitely be on my to-do list next time we go up.
I think its so important to cherish every moment we have with our loved ones. Growing up my husband spent a lot of his best childhood memories here. He was able to roam and think freely, to play, explore, to just be a kid. I think Elijah feels the same. I had many great memories from this trip, but one of my favorites was when my nephew asked me how to pray. I said “there isn’t anything specific we have to say. We tell Jesus what’s in our hearts, what we’re thinking and what we’re thankful for. Talking to him like you would talk to any of your friends.” So at night we began to pray. I hope that one day my nephew can look back on this experience and memories and hold them dear to his heart. Love you Elijah!
