Tony and I decided to go back to where we made it official – Traverse City. Celebrating our 1st year of marriage is something we’ve been looking forward to. We plan on visiting a few wineries, then going out to a nice dinner. We hope to check out the beautiful Traverse City Cherry blossoms. We’ll even attempt to eat the top layer of our 1 year old wedding cake, while enjoying the views.
Just when you think life can’t get any sweeter, it does. Marriage truly is a beautiful thing; it has been pure joy. But it also takes work, like when you’re hangry and you’re mad at the world…Or when you can’t come to an agreement on something because you both can be stubborn. But you see, it’s important to keep your eye on the big picture of things. To stay committed and in love with each other. To make sacrifices and try new things. To respect each other and never go to bed angry. I can promise you, your life and marriage will be happy and fulfilling.
We’ve gotten so much closer and really are each other’s best friend. That may sound cheesy, but it’s the honest truth. We talk about our hopes and dreams. We laugh a lot because a sense of humor is the best way to handle things.
This is the beginning of our chapter…My hope is that we always remain grounded and keep God at the center of our marriage. We have so much to look forward to and I can’t wait to travel the road together. I can honestly say I’m looking forward to growing old together with my fine-wine of a husband.
I will love you forever, honey!
He surprised me with this chocolate square right before we got engaged. ^^^
